NYC trunk show

Occasionally one is fortunate enough to meet the right person at the right time.  This past spring my makeup artist friend Joshua Grant and I were having drinks at Bemelman's Bar in the Carlyle when an attractive young couple sat down next to us.  The young woman saw my muffs sitting on the seat next to me and exclaimed how much she loved them.  We exchanged business cards and I waited to hear from her this fall.  True to her word, this young, beautiful woman emailed me regarding the purchase of a muff.  Her name is Kelli Shaughnessy and she is now my new friend and supporter in New York.

Kelli and her partner Jim Stanton organized a relaxing evening of fashion and food in their gorgeous New York City apartment.  It was a perfect evening combining fashion, food, fashionistas and a $30 million dollar view.
I met an interesting group of women but more importantly, I had the honor and privilege to befriend Kelli and Jim.  They are the warmest and kindest people who extended their hospitality to a stranger.  I am grateful for their friendship and the opportunity they provided for me in New York.  A toast to Kelli and Jim.

October is Trunk Show Month

I have been very busy getting ready for two trunk shows in October.  The first will be held in NYC and sponsored by Kelli Shaughnessy, chairperson of the charity, Dream Extreme.  This will be an exciting event that will officially launch my muffs in New York City. It will be held on October 16th at Kelli's apartment on E. 74th Street which I am sure is the size of a football field since she and her husband own the building. There has been a lot of buzz in NYC regarding my line and now it will be officially debuted thanks to Kelli's efforts.  She is my biggest fan and has been so gracious to me.  I am unofficially declaring myself president of Kelli's fan club.

The other trunk show is being organized in Toronto by the outstanding PR guru, Sheila Roberts.  Sheila is getting her solid gold rolodex out for this event and it will be held at the prestigious and hip Spoke Club on October 24th.  All of Toronto's fashionistas will be there which means flashbulbs will be popping and stores will be lining up for my line (Am I optimistic or what?).  I am looking forward to meeting the Beckerman Sisters and the buyers from Holts.  I hope Sheila will be able to get a hold of the brains behind The Coveteur.  This is the most important fashion website today and it is Canadian.

Joshua rocks the Wendy O at the Carlyle - Yes, Vintage is for Men too!

Every so often we meet someone with whom we just click.  This is certainly the case with my new bestie Joshua Grant.  Joshua is a fashion designer and make-up artist extraordinare at Berdorf Goodman and The Carlyle.  He is extremely talented and adorable so if you are in New York City, stop by Berdorf's at the Sisley counter or make an appointment at the Carlyle and have your makeup done by Joshua.  He's the best in New York.

WARM FUR WAS THE COOLEST THING THIS FASHION WEEK
